Chinese Drywall Inspection
Does your home have toxic drywall? Find out with a tainted drywall inspection.
What is a Chinese Drywall Inspection?
Our approach to Chinese Drywall Inspections
A residential home inspection of your drywall can protect the health of your family.
We examine the home’s drywall from top to bottom. This includes areas in the attic, walls, and building crawl spaces.
We do thermal camera scans for moisture and any water intrusion. Another benefit of thermal camera scans is we can find evidence of electrical overheating.
Our Chinese Drywall Inspection Reports are delivered quickly—usually in 24 hours.
When we enter your home, we take pride in showing it the utmost respect.

history of the issue
When Did the Chinese Drywall Issues Begin?
Chinese Drywall in Florida became a problem around 2005 when a surge in construction and a relentless hurricane season created an overwhelming need for drywall. This tremendous need to repair damaged homes and keep up with new construction required The United States to import large amounts of foreign drywall. The US imported drywall in excess of 550 million pounds.
Not long after tainted Chinese Drywall is installed, it causes problems. The Florida Department of Health receives reports of noxious odors and rotten egg smells which worsen in high temperatures. Further investigation and testing show that gaseous emissions are often from the contaminated drywall
Reviews on our Home Inspections
“I have used Mike on a handful of inspections for both myself and clients. He is very thorough, takes the time to explain things, does his best to make himself available and is a true professional. I look forward to working with him again and definitely recommend Maverick Inspection Services!”

Chinese Drywall Inspection
No worries, you don’t need to be there for the whole inspection. We’ll just need a key to access the house. However, we prefer you are there at the end, if possible. If you are out of town and this is not possible, no problem. The report is photo documented and detailed. Because our reports are so thorough, we get very few calls later.
The price of the inspection depends on the size of the home and the number of stories you house is. Please contact us for an exact quote.
Our reports are highly detailed and they are uploaded online for your review. As long as we have access to the house, we can do a home inspection for a client out of the country.
We are not doing any kind of environmental testing. This is a visual only test. We can refer you to another company for mold testing.
We’ll need access to the property, usually by means of a home owner or a Realator. If you have knowledge of any issues before we arrive, it is helpful to provide those to us. If you have any specific concerns, let us know. We’ll give them our special attention.
You can combine the following:
- Multiple inspections on one house. (For example, if you need a home inspection, a Wood Destroying Organism Inspection, and an Irrigation Inspection.)
- Multiple inspections on various houses. (For example, if you are considering buying a home but can’t decide between two homes—we’ll inspect them both for you and provide reports on both homes to help you make a good decision.)
Upon request, we can provide a list of well-reviewed local contractors that our customers enjoy using.
However, you always hire a contractor at your own risk.
A sample report is available upon request.
